Procurement Manager
Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Sutton Coldfield - Birmingham (Hybrid, 3 days office, 2 from home)
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum (DOE) + £4,500 Annual Car Allowance
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to support the evolution and implementation of our centralised procurement function.
Reporting directly to the Head of Property Services & Procurement, you will play a crucial role in managing the entire supplier lifecycle. From identifying the business’s needs and executing tenders to onboarding and mobilizing new suppliers, your expertise will ensure seamless operations and strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engaging with stakeholders to understand business needs and ensuring that the procurement policy and guidelines support the needs of the business and that best practices are delivered.
  2. Creating and implementing regional and national procurement strategies where applicable that are innovative, cost-effective, and incorporate the growing complexities within the business.
  3. Leading transformational activities to build procurement organisational capabilities and improve procurement efficiency.
  4. Supporting the development of a training programme to be delivered throughout the business concerning procurement and how this supports the delivery of the strategy.
  5. Facilitating and managing procurement processes, tendering, negotiation, contract award and ongoing contract management.
  6. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
  7. Working collaboratively, negotiating, and engaging with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the procurement strategy.
  8. Contributing to new business initiatives and projects and reviewing and communicating the impact on procurement activities.
  9. Developing and implementing cost reduction initiatives and ensuring value for money is obtained across all areas.

Must Haves:

  1. Multiple years experience working in a Procurement Management position previously or in a similar role/level.
  2. Experience in the use of purchase-to-pay systems would be advantageous i.e. Proactis or similar.
  3. Previous management, supervisory or team manager experience.
  4. Demonstrable skills in having completed sourcing exercises of more than £100,000 in value and managing tender processes from start to completion.
  5. Commercially and financially aware with experience in managing budgets.
  6. Experience in drafting contract schedules, and contract variations.
  7. Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
  8. The ability to influence, build and maintain positive long-term working relationships.
  9. Experience in managing complex supplier management relationships.
