Description

Bath Spa University are looking to grow the procurement team and have two roles available, Procurement Manager and Procurement Specialist. The new role of Procurement Manager is to support the Head of Procurement with development of the procurement practices and leading on the procurement of strategic projects.

About the Role

The team manage a range of procurement activity across all categories ensuring there are plenty of exciting opportunities and projects, working with different customers and suppliers, through a range of different processes. Identifying opportunities to achieve value for money and improve efficiencies in processes. Using various sources of information to develop the pipeline of activity, tendering, contract management, and process improvement. Advising on the end-to-end procurement process that's most appropriate for the requirement and supporting customers through the process, leading on the more complex processes often with support from the Strategic Projects Team.

About You

  • Experience with a range of complex procurement processes and across a variety of goods and services, with a category management approach preferably including Estates and IT.
  • Understanding of public sector procurement, with knowledge of both the Public Contract Regulations 2016 and the Procurement Act 2023 and resulting regulations and guidance.
  • Experience of developing strong relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, and an external network including purchasing consortia and others within the sector.
  • Experience of contract management, negotiation and reviewing terms and conditions.
  • A strong team ethos and coaching approach to developing others, ability to adapt and drive change, with a continuous professional development mindset.
  • Process Improvement including through the use of systems and data, developing guidance and templates for customers, and consideration for a responsible procurement approach with sustainability at its heart.

Additional Information

Salary: Grade 8S - £44,128 to £46,735 per annum. A job share would be considered for the right candidate.
