The Procurement Lead is responsible for allocated suppliers for the assigned commodity expediting orders placed by Safran Electrical & Power UK Ltd. They will also act as a point of escalation for the Buyers, coaching and supporting them in achieving their KPI's and delivering improvements.

In addition, there will also be the need for a significant level of interaction with both internal and external stakeholders as part of a cross-functional Global Supply Chain team to support the next phase of transformation.

Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for allocated suppliers across the commodity.
  2. Act as the focal point for all day-to-day material requirements across an agreed range of suppliers.
  3. Work with suppliers and coordinate with other Buyers to ensure deliveries are on-time, in full, and aligned with the needs of the business.
  4. Act as a first point of escalation for analysis and resolution of changes to planned supply, keeping line management updated and, where appropriate, present options for business sign-off.
  5. Work closely with the Program Manager ensuring they are updated on the status of supply for their programs and take identified actions on behalf of Purchasing.
  6. Drive improvement actions via KPI review and maintenance, including:
    1. Supplier Acknowledgements within the supplier portal.
    2. Requisitions to Purchase Order conversion.
    3. Purchase Orders late to requirements.
    4. Action Messages (reschedule in or push product out).
  7. Understand and execute to the wider business strategy for their assigned suppliers/commodities.
  8. Closely manage invoice clearance to ensure that any issues are investigated and resolved to ensure continual flow of the line.
  9. Perform Request for Quotations on stranger parts as required.
  10. Manage deliveries of Purchase orders to be just-in-time for inventory management.
  11. Work with suppliers to resolve issues impacting performance, such as Quality discrepancies, Book in queries, Permits/Concessions, or Invoice query resolution and corrective actions where needed.
  12. Manage returns to vendors via the NCT process.
  13. Work with Purchasing/SRPM/SQA/Vendors to ensure/create robust and efficient Supply chains.
  14. Coordinate with the Commodity team for new vendor introduction.

Job Requirements

  1. CIPS level 4 and above is desirable.
  2. Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment.
  3. Previous experience in Supply Chain Management, specifically procurement, ideally within a controlled environment (e.g., AS9100).
  4. Excellent negotiation and influencing skills internally and externally.
  5. Ability to communicate and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  6. Natural leadership style to foster team working.
  7. Demonstrates a flexible and adaptable attitude.
  8. Must have excellent analytical, numerical, IT, and planning skills.
  9. Previous management of Supplier schedules and operational procurement desirable.
  10. Experience within a production control system in either a lean manufacturing environment or Planning/Purchasing area would be advantageous.
  11. Energetic, results-oriented driven individual.
  12. Previous knowledge of SAP would be advantageous.
  13. Ability to work independently.
