Are you a recent graduate in Supply Chain/Procurement or similar that wants to kick start their career? Look no further as we have an exciting opportunity to join the Asda Head office Procurement Team in Leeds.

Working in the ASDA procurement team, you will be involved in buying and managing supplier relationships for our £2bn spend for ‘Goods Not for Resale’ products and services across the business, including Technology, Marketing, Logistics, Property, Corporate Services, and Energy.

Our 2-year graduate programme is split into 4 placements where you will have the opportunity to work on Sourcing, Supplier Relationship Management, Contract Management, and Procurement Governance.

The development opportunities at ASDA are endless; if you are successful, you would have the opportunity to gain a further professional qualification on the Chartered Institute of Purchasing (CIPS) Apprenticeship.

We are looking for graduates who can demonstrate they have the leadership potential we need for the future. A degree in a related subject such as Supply Chain is preferred but not essential; an interest in procurement and demonstrating the right behaviours is what’s most important to us. You will need to be suitably located to attend the office in Leeds regularly.

• Excellent Communication Skills
• Problem Solving – demonstrable experience in solving problems and ability to provide solutions.
• Attention to detail, as there will be a requirement to spot opportunities and manage risks in contracts and commercial arrangements.
• Analytical thinking to evaluate data and provide insights.
• Time Management/prioritisation to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and have the ability to prioritise.
• Basic Microsoft Applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) skills preferred but not essential.

Right to work within the UK and have been resident in the UK, the British Overseas Territories, or Crown Dependencies (Channel Islands and Isle of Man) for at least the previous three years before the start of the CIMA Apprenticeship (visit: www.Gov.uk for further information).

The procurement graduate scheme will give the graduates the opportunity to develop in the below skills.

• Relationship Management – building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers & stakeholders.
• Negotiation Skills – Developing the ability to negotiate contracts.
• Strategic Thinking – understanding the bigger picture and aligning procurement activities with business goals.
• Analytical Skills – Analyse data to provide insights into supplier performance & make informed decisions.
• Commercial Acumen – develop an understanding of commercial models & costs structures to deliver best value.
• Supply Chain Knowledge – gain an understanding of the supply chain and how this is managed.
• Environmental Awareness – develop an understanding and drive sustainable procurement practices.

• Three quick video interview questions
• A half-day assessment centre at Asda House during January 2025, where you’ll meet the team.
