A rare and unique opportunity, for a heavy hitting IT Procurement Director to join a global FTSE 100 insurance business to working with the CPO and C-suite stakeholder base to improve, build and retain strong relationships.
You’ll be exposed to a high value and complex projects, critical to the business and working at strategic level. They are in need for a technically versed, confident and influential procurement expert who has worked at senior levels, ideally for a global business with high spends.
Role and responsibilities:
- Ensure strong relationships with the IT leadership team are built and upheld
- Managing the high value, most complex and business critical, strategic IT projects
- Develop group wide category plans and strategies to ensure alignment for the group, leveraging suppliers to support local offices
- Continuous engagement with the IT Directors up to CIO to ensure procurement buy-in and that procurement is mandated
- Support the development of category strategies to a clear and prioritised pipeline of sourcing projects
- Engage, manage and influence senior stakeholders from Director to Board level to ensure buy-in, utilising strong market knowledge
- Build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a rounded knowledge of a suppliers performance
- Monitor supplier risk and performance through reporting tools and business feedback
Experience and requirements:
- Deep technical category experience within Technology, covering a wide range of sub-categories (Software, Hardware, Applications, Digital, Infrastructure, Cloud, IT Professional Services Telecoms and Networks)
- Experience in re-igniting the procurement and stakeholder relationship at senior levels
- Previous experience working on complex projects, dealing with Tier 1 suppliers of significant values
- Confident in engaging and influencing senior level stakeholders, and across various regions
- A highly strategic mindset when approaching procurement, suppliers and business needs
- Will have a track record of IT category management, effecting change and continuous improvement through implementation of innovative category strategies
- Excellent communications skills when dealing with contacts in different cultures and countries
- Able to adapt in a very fast paced, continuously changing environment
