Our Digital Business Services teams are the foundation of HSBC, providing essential support across technology, operations and key central business services for our global businesses and functions. This includes running customer operations, delivering innovative digital solutions for customers and colleagues, managing bank-wide change, and central services such as procurement and real estate management. The teams play a vital role in driving great experiences for customers and colleagues and enabling the bank’s strategy.

Dynamic and proactive, Global Procurement delivers tangible commercial value for HSBC. A varied remit spans all aspects of the procurement lifecycle worldwide - from leading relationships with suppliers, to ensuring alignment across spending plans. Highly engaged with the business, Procurement specialists develop deep strategic understanding. This leads to stronger approaches to measuring success, and ultimately ensures the Group operates ever more effectively.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of IT Category Manager.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop IT Procurement Strategies: Create and manage forward-looking IT sub-category plans that drive cost savings, value generation, and business innovation.
  • Engage Senior Stakeholders: Build strong, influential relationships with business and technology leaders to align IT procurement strategies with organizational goals.
  • Monitor IT Supplier Markets: Stay ahead of market trends, new technologies, and supplier changes to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure Compliance: Promote adherence to Preferred Supplier Lists (PSL) and IT buying channels, addressing non-compliance and driving improvements.
  • Support Global Execution: Work with country Heads of Procurement and sourcing teams to ensure effective delivery of IT category plans and sourcing projects.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • IT Category Expertise: Extensive experience in IT procurement, including managing software, hardware, and IT services categories.
  • Negotiation Skills: A proven track record of leading complex, high-value IT procurement negotiations with global suppliers.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong ability to influence and collaborate with senior business and IT leaders in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Analytical and Commercial Acumen: Expertise in applying Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and other commercial models to IT procurement decisions.
  • Leadership in Change: A track record of driving best practices, supporting procurement transformation initiatives, and embedding agile ways of working.

You’ll achieve more when you join HSBC.
