Procurement Analyst - FTC until July 2028

The Football Association has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Analyst to join our in-house procurement team.

As part of the ongoing growth and development of the Procurement function at The FA, the requirement for a Procurement Analyst has arisen. The role of The FA Procurement Analyst will be to support the Procurement team across the wider Procurement programme, as well as having responsibility for running the full tender process across many of their own opportunities. The role is required to provide comprehensive support across pricing analysis, balanced scorecards and preparation of bid response templates, and is expected to quickly progress to own their own procurement across multiple categories. As expected, the role will work closely with Heads of Function and require excellent internal and external stakeholder management and communication skills.

What will you be doing?
  • Work closely with divisions in the FA Group to create sourcing plans and tender documentation which are comprehensive, transparent, and designed to deliver best value and achieve the FA's objectives.
  • Support the Procurement team's role in delivering The FA's Sustainability strategy Playing For The Future.
  • Maintain internal and external stakeholder and supplier relationships.
  • Manage the end-to-end sourcing activity including tender documents, invitations to tender, post tender reports etc.
  • Undertake analysis of tender responses including cost and data analysis and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of respective offers and proposals, ensuring that all recommendations are underpinned by solid financial comparisons.
  • Liaise directly with suppliers during the tender process to ensure they receive the relevant information, invites and responses.
  • Support in the negotiation and implementation of agreements working closely with the legal team and the appropriate FA division.
  • Support with high-level spend analysis; to better understand The FA's supplier base and identify cross-functional synergies where Procurement can add value.
  • Provide procurement related support to major tournaments and events, including UEFA Men's European Championship 2028 (UK&I 2028), and the development of the SGP 2.0 programme.
  • Support and encourage compliance with the Procurement policy.

Executes additional tasks as required to meet the FA's changing priorities.

Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure that the highest standards of health, safety, and well-being can be maintained.

Essential for the role:

  • Ability to operate in a dynamic working environment, handling multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • IT skills - Microsoft Office suite of applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
  • Committed to providing high levels of service to both internal and external customers.

Beneficial to have:

  • Experience of handling large data sets and dealing with a constantly changing set of requirements, to identify and understand critical issues.
  • Good understanding of the workings of a requisition-to-pay system, from both a raiser and approver perspective.
