Job Title: Process Technician (Afternoons)

Key Skills: Maintenance Engineer, Multi Skilled Engineer, Electrical Engineer, 5S, 6 Sigma

Salary: £31,345 per annum inclusive of shift allowance

Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm-10:00pm

Location: Oakham, Rutland

Commutable from: Uppingham, Burley, Cottesmore, Langham, Manton, Grantham, Peterborough and Stamford

Our client has an exciting opportunity to join their established manufacturing company as a Process Technician. The successful candidate will support the Production Manager and Maintenance team in the upkeep of the infrastructure of the site, including maintaining the machines and maximising the output of quality products from the moulding areas.

The Role:

1. Ensuring safety checks for the department are completed to schedule.
2. Ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed as required.
3. All aspects of setting and running moulding machines to maximise the output of quality product.
4. Job changes including colour, material and label changes.
5. Quality checks.
6. Support collection of performance data.
7. Fault finding and process improvements.
8. Prevent damage to equipment/breakdowns through good working practice and basic preventive maintenance.
9. Ensuring the housekeeping around machines is to the correct quality standard.
10. Maintaining a safe working environment for themselves and others in the cell.
11. Tool changes when required.
12. Communication of issues affecting machine performance, efficiency, safety and quality to the relevant supervisor/manager.
13. Cycle time optimisation.
14. Participation in improvement projects.
15. Support and keep up of work completed within kaizen events across the site.

Our Ideal Candidate:

1. Previous experience in maintaining factory services.
2. Self-motivated with the will to improve equipment effectiveness.
3. Served a recognised apprenticeship with extensive experience in maintenance.
4. Ability to work alone and within a team environment.
5. Have a flexible approach to working hours.
6. Quality conscious with an awareness of health and safety.
7. A willingness to undertake further relevant training.
8. Ability to adapt to changes in the working environment.
