Process Technician

Salary: £40,662 - £56,200 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Allington Energy from Waste Facility, ME16 0LE

As a Process Technician at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Allington Energy from Waste Facility. Reporting to the Operations Shift Manager, you will co-ordinate and carry out plant operational activities, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards while maintaining operational efficiency.

This is a full-time role, working five days per week.

What Will You Be Doing?
  • Operating the plant safely and efficiently in accordance with FCC Environment procedures
  • Performing supervisory responsibilities in line with company policies and legislation
  • Managing waste handling, boiler furnace operation, steam systems, fans, pumps, turbines, ash handling, and water treatment processes
  • Acting as a Competent Person and Authorised Person under FCC Environment Safety Rules
  • Supporting operational health and safety, including inspections, area responsibilities, and attending safety meetings
  • Assisting with plant maintenance activities, including isolations and safe systems of work
  • Monitoring and controlling operational consumables
  • Supporting workplace investigations and root cause analysis activities
  • Ensuring compliance with internal and external regulatory standards
  • Undertaking company or specialist training as required
  • Operating and interrogating complex Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
  • Operating large mobile plant and overhead cranes
  • Acting as a Fire Marshal and co-ordinating emergency responses when required
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping throughout the facility
