Job description

Help us make a difference as a Process Technician.

The hours for this role is days, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week).

A quick look at the role.

The Process Technician at our Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plant ensures optimal operation and maintenance of the AD process, converting organic waste into renewable energy. This role involves monitoring process parameters, troubleshooting, and implementing improvements to enhance plant performance. The technician plays a key part in supporting sustainable energy production while maintaining safety and environmental compliance.

Your core responsibilities.

  • Monitor the anaerobic digestion process to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Adjust process parameters (e.g., temperature, pH, feedstock flow rates) using SCADA and control systems.
  • Perform lab tech duties, collect and test samples, and ensure compliance with environmental and operational standards.
  • Troubleshoot issues, collaborate with the maintenance team, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Record and analyze data to identify trends and recommend process optimizations.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and assist with audits and inspections.
  • Identify operational improvements, implement best practices, and stay informed on industry advancements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, generate reports, and support training and development within the team.
Requirements

Our essential requirements.
  • HNC/HND level or significant relevant experience in waste management or the environmental sector.
  • Full current car driving licence.
  • Proven ability to achieve KPIs, including environmental, health, and safety targets.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a process technician role within waste management, renewable energy, or a similar industrial setting.
  • Experience with anaerobic digestion processes or biogas production, along with continuous improvement of waste processes.
