  • You view safety as a value.
  • Chemical/process engineering degree or HNC.
  • A self-motivated individual who enjoys working in a highly regulated and proceduralised working environment.
  • Experience of managing complex engineering projects from concept through to commissioning delivery.
  • Management of risk through risk assessments, principles are hazard studies and process risk reviews.
  • Experience working in pharmaceutical or cosmetic industry to quality standards such as cGMP.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry legislation such as HASAWA 1974, PSSR and DSEAR and as relevant associated ACOP and guidance requirements.
  • Good problem-solving capability and the ability to function efficiently in a complex manufacturing environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of leading change.
  • Experience in the development and delivery of long-term asset life-plans.
  • Managing conflicting deadlines, identifying priorities and adapting accordingly.
  • Software proficiency including Excel and CAD.
  • Previous experience in hygienic process design and biotechnology is preferred.
What You'll Be Doing:

  • Working within a team of process engineers, this role is an important role which helps to ensure ongoing optimised operation of the site.
  • You will work with other technical, operational and engineering disciplines to identify, engineer and deliver projects to improve the safety, operability and profitability of the site.
  • You will work closely with discipline engineers, operations teams and senior site leadership to define project goals, milestones, and deliverables.
  • You will prepare cost estimates for projects and compile and submit capital expenditure requests.
  • You will provide process engineering expertise in the design stage of projects in order to:
    Clearly defined and agreed project scope which covers all requirements.
    Develop design documentation such as PFDs, P&IDs and URS.
    Resource efficient process design.
    Specification of process equipment including for hazardous areas and pressure systems, including relief streams.
    Development of control philosophies accounting for available operational resource.
  • You will own and manage the budget for your projects and provide periodic updates to enable reporting of performance to the site senior team.
  • You will attend safety review meetings for new projects and for existing operational plants and ensure that all risks of operation are managed to ALARP.
  • Working with third party designers or vendors on process and equipment design to ensure relevant standard and functional requirements are met as intended through factory and site acceptance test.
  • You will ensure compliance to our project delivery procedures and site management of change ensuring effective installation, commissioning and handover to end users, meeting all deliverables in the scope. You will adhere to all company policies and procedures in order to fulfil Croda's responsibilities whilst also ensuring legal compliance for existing process on site.
  • You will become the process expert for discreet areas of the site and provide engineering input into root cause analysis, debottlenecking and troubleshooting exercises.
