Job description

Experienced Process Engineer required to work for Global manufacturer at their Plymouth based site. As part of the Process Engineering Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for Loss (Breakdown, Waste, Speed), Investigation and Resolution. You will also be responsible for the Implementation of basic maintenance processes for designated product lines, utilising your strong structured Problem Solving Abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct 4 block update on focus lines.
  2. Generate 4 block initiatives to return lines to LSA.
  3. Generate daily Bottle neck action and Focus KPI action.
  4. Provide direction to shift teams on problematic areas using data analysis from all sources of data including MES, PAB and VOA.
  5. Drive centre lining activities for sustained line performance.
  6. Poka yoke solutions and improvements.
  7. Implement Quality improvements to drive down TQN and QN to fall in line with company metrics.
  8. Drive safety initiatives and improvements.
  9. Ascertain opportunities for waste reductions and drive actions to completion.
  10. Attend meetings providing engineering status of line and agree resource deployment and timings to close losses.
  11. Resolve repeat loss issues using systematic problem-solving techniques to determine root cause.
  12. Support CI projects/validations to help improve equipment reliability.
  13. Provide details to improve Maintenance Standards and execution (Frequency, Breakdowns and Repairs) to Reliability Leader based on problem solving outcomes and DTM/PPM activity.
  14. Coaching on continuous improvement methodologies & tools.
  15. Responsible for supporting equipment breakdown if required.
Essential Qualifications, Experience and Candidate Attributes Required:
  1. HNC or Degree level education in Engineering/Mechatronics or a similar Engineering discipline.
  2. A minimum of five years experience working as a Process / Manufacturing or Production Engineer coupled with several years of experience with high-speed automated assembly and packaging equipment.
  3. Strong understanding of six sigma methodologies.
  4. Ability to work as part of a team and encourage effective teambuilding activities.
  5. Confident independent thinking, with the ability to act quickly in a high pressure situation.
  6. Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.
  7. Experience with safety and ergonomics in a manufacturing environment.
  8. Strong understanding of Quality Systems.

This is a day shift position working Monday to Friday 08:30 to 16:30.
