Job description

Job Title: Process Engineer - Clean Energy

Location: North West, UK, Hybrid (Office & Remote)

Start Date: May / June 2025

Company Overview

We are seeking skilled Process Engineers to join our team. As a part of our dynamic and growing clean energy sector, you will contribute to major projects, gain leadership experience, and work towards your Chartership while playing a key role in the delivery of Capex and Opex schemes.

Role Overview

In this hybrid position, you will lead process engineering activities across various clean energy projects. From concept to handover, you'll be at the heart of ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical and safety standards. Your responsibilities will include liaising with internal teams, stakeholders, and the supply chain to achieve optimal project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Engage across the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept, through design, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  2. Collaborate between Production, Capital Delivery, and the supply chain to ensure smooth project execution.
  3. Develop and implement project plans and ensure that projects align with delivery procedures and standards.
  4. Drive technical solutions in line with CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations and company procedures.
  5. Actively participate in safety studies (including HAZOP) and investigation meetings to ensure safety is prioritized.
  6. Provide technical coaching and mentoring to frontline teams, enhancing fault finding, optimization, and controlled changes to improve operational performance.
  7. Take ownership of capital project scope and ensure compliance with company standards.
  8. Lead initiatives to optimize operations and improve efficiency across sites.
  9. Provide visible leadership to the team and business through regular site inspections and engagement with the workforce.
Qualifications & Experience
  1. Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  2. Proven experience in an engineering role, with a broad technical skillset in process engineering.
  3. Experience in industries such as wastewater, water treatment, energy from waste (EfW), combustion, anaerobic digestion, recycling, or similar fields is highly beneficial.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  5. Willing to participate in the Duty Production Lead standby rota.
  6. Full UK Driving License required for site visits and inspections.
