Job description

We are currently seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to join our team as Full-Time Probation Service Officers in Highbury Corner Magistrates Court. As a Probation Service Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders into society.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Case Management: Effectively manage a caseload of offenders, conducting risk assessments, and developing appropriate intervention plans.
  2. Client Support: Provide guidance and support to individuals under probation supervision, addressing their needs and facilitating access to relevant services.
  3. Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly monitor the progress of offenders, ensuring compliance with court orders, and reporting any concerns or issues promptly.
  4. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other criminal justice agencies, social services, and community organisations to ensure a coordinated approach to offender rehabilitation.
  5. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and interventions, adhering to data protection and confidentiality protocols.
  6. Court Liaison: Attend court hearings as required, presenting information on offender progress and offering recommendations to the court.
  7. Crisis Intervention: Respond to crises and emergencies involving offenders, taking appropriate action to ensure the safety of all parties involved.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. A relevant degree or professional qualification in probation, social work, criminology, or a related field.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  4. Understanding of the criminal justice system and rehabilitation principles.
