Private Rented Sector (PRS) Enforcement Officer / Environmental Health Officer

Buckingham Futures is recruiting a Private Rented Sector (PRS) Enforcement Officer / Environmental Health Officer on behalf of our client in Kent. This hybrid role requires 2-3 days per week in the office and is initially a three-month contract, with the potential for a 12-month extension subject to approval.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in addressing damp and mould issues in the Private Rented Sector, ensuring safe and healthy housing conditions for tenants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Investigate tenant complaints related to damp and mould in PRS properties.
• Conduct inspections to assess property conditions and enforce housing regulations.
• Advise landlords and tenants on remediation and best practices for maintaining housing standards.
• Collaborate with local authorities and key stakeholders to resolve cases effectively.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, findings, and follow-up actions.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in housing inspection, property maintenance, or environmental health.
• Strong knowledge of HHSRS, damp and mould prevention, and housing regulations.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Familiarity with Private Rented Sector compliance frameworks.
