Private Household Housekeeper

Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning & Tidying:

• Perform daily cleaning duties such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning surfaces throughout the home.
• Clean and sanitise bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms, living areas, and hallways.
• Organise and tidy rooms, closets, and storage spaces.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.

Laundry & Ironing:

• Wash, dry, fold, and store laundry.
• Iron clothes, linens, and other household items as required.
• Care for delicate fabrics and ensure proper cleaning methods are used.

Kitchen Assistance:

• Clean and sanitise kitchen appliances, countertops, and dishes.
• Assist with meal preparation and cleaning up after meals, if needed.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning products and household supplies.

Household Maintenance:

• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate person.
• Maintain an organised system for cleaning supplies, linens, and other household items.
• Take responsibility for managing basic household tasks like garbage collection and recycling.

Specialised Duties:

• Handle more specific tasks upon request, such as caring for fine fabrics or antique furniture.
• Provide care for pets or plants, if applicable.
• Assist with events, guest preparation, and other occasional duties as needed.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a housekeeper or in a similar role.
• Excellent cleaning and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
• Ability to handle various cleaning products and equipment.
• Good time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
• Flexibility and willingness to adjust to the needs of the household.
• Strong communication skills and a professional demeanour.

Experience:

• Previous experience in a private household or housekeeping position preferred.
• Experience with cleaning products and household equipment is a plus.

Schedule:

• Part-time availability of 4 to 5 hours per day, 5 days a week, for a duration of 2 weeks.
• Ability to work weekends or evenings as needed.
• References required.
