A Day in the Life of an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician:
As an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of medications. Your day will be varied and fulfilling, with key responsibilities such as:
- Accuracy checking prescriptions: Ensuring that medications are dispensed correctly, double-checking calculations, labeling, and patient instructions to prevent any potential medication errors.
- Stock management: Checking the stock levels, ordering medications, and ensuring all medicines are stored according to regulations.
- Supporting the team: Collaborating with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to discuss medication therapy, resolve queries, and ensure safe and effective use of medications.
- Patient safety: Taking every necessary step to ensure patient safety by conducting thorough accuracy checks on dispensed medications.
- Maintaining accurate records: Ensuring all records, including prescription details and patient information, are kept up to date for compliance with hospital protocols.
- Continuous learning: Staying updated with industry standards and best practices, as well as participating in ongoing professional development to further your expertise as an Accuracy Checking Technician.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Valid Accuracy Checking Technician certificate (required).
- No hospital experience necessary, but previous pharmacy experience is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care.
Working Hours & Contract Duration:
This role offers a full-time position, Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility where possible. The contract is ongoing with the potential for extension based on performance and service needs.
