Job description

My client is searching for a Private Client Solicitor or Fee Earner to join their growing firm based in Hove, East Sussex on a hybrid basis.

Role Purpose

  1. To manage all client work in accordance with the detailed procedures and quality standards contained in the firm’s Office Manual and associated policies.
  2. To ensure the successful development of the department and the firm in line with the business plan.
  3. To ensure the confidentiality and security of the firm’s clients, documents and information.
  4. To actively practise and promote the firm’s ethos and values, demonstrating our core competencies and encouraging the development of others in line with these.

Key tasks

  1. To ensure work is undertaken expeditiously and to a high standard.
  2. To keep clients regularly informed of the progress of their case and costs.
  3. To achieve agreed levels of billing.
  4. To undertake fee earning work and provide a profitable contribution to the work of the department.

Key objectives or outputs

  1. Billing targets met.
  2. Positive feedback from clients.
  3. Recognised by our third party contacts as a trusted advisor.

Skills / Qualifications

  1. Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive.
  2. Preferably 3 years PQE.
  3. Experience to enable the individual to competently deal with client matters relating to the departmental specialism.
  4. Ability to lead and develop junior lawyers and support staff.
  5. In depth knowledge of wills, probate matters, trusts and tax.
  6. STEP qualified an advantage.
  7. IT skills (use of client matter databases e.g. LEAP).
