Job Description:

An award-winning and well-regarded law firm in Basingstoke is seeking an experienced and personable Private Client Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join its expanding Wills, Trusts & Probate team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified lawyer with 4+ years PQE to handle a broad range of private client matters in a supportive and collaborative environment.

The Role:

You will manage a varied caseload covering all aspects of private client work, from drafting complex wills and estate planning for high-net-worth individuals to probate and estate administration for clients in the local community. This is a key role within a thriving team, offering a mix of autonomy, meaningful client contact, and involvement in the growth and marketing of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Managing a full caseload of private client matters including wills, trusts, probate, and estate planning
2. Advising a wide range of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, with a client-focused approach
3. Supporting the team’s growth through networking, marketing, and business development activities
4. Participating in team events, social initiatives, and charity activities
5. Ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements

Requirements

1. Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive in England & Wales with 4+ years’ PQE
2. Solid experience across the full spectrum of private client work
3. STEP qualification or working towards STEP (preferred but not essential)
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5. Client-focused, empathetic, and commercially aware
6. Strong organisational and time management skills
