Job description

This well-established and reputable law firm is seeking a Paralegal to join their Private Client department. The firm is known for their great legal services and is accredited for their services.


The team requires a paralegal to assist on all matters relating to private client work. The role comes with a high level of responsibility and you will also have direct client contact. The role will suit a keen and enthusiastic individual who has previous private client experience within a law firm.


You will advise on a variety of matters to include:
  1. The administration of estates
  2. Succession and Tax planning
  3. Assisting solicitors with administration of High value and complex estates
  4. Wills
  5. Lasting Powers of Attorney
  6. Registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney
  7. Applications to the Court of Protection

Duties will include:
  1. Assisting with the full spectrum of private client work including wills, probate, estate administration, LPAs, and trust matters.
  2. Working closely with experienced Solicitors, providing vital support across their caseload.
  3. Taking instructions from clients by prior appointment at the office for straightforward Wills.
  4. Advising on Lasting Powers of Attorney and managing their preparation and registration following signature.
  5. Communicating with clients and other parties to gather information, provide updates on case progress, and assist in coordinating meetings.
  6. Handling a range of administrative tasks such as billing, timekeeping, maintaining databases, and managing office operations related to legal matters.

Desired skills:
  1. Must have at least 1 year's experience working in the Private Client department, ideally in a High Street firm.
  2. Someone who is looking for career progression within private client and who wants to qualify as a private client lawyer.
  3. Strong organisational and time management skills.

What they offer:
  1. Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, this is office-based. However, Part Time hours would be considered.
  2. Salary depending on experience - £25,000 - £30,000.
  3. Good holiday entitlement plus bank holidays.
  4. Pension scheme.
