Principal Town Planning Consultant

Location: Bristol, UK (Hybrid)

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 (DOE)

Lead Planning Projects That Shape the South West

A respected and fast-growing planning consultancy is looking for an experienced Principal Town Planning Consultant to lead on high-profile projects across energy, infrastructure, and sustainable development. This role offers the opportunity to take a strategic lead within a well-established planning and EIA team, working on some of the UK's most exciting and complex schemes.

Based in Bristol or the surrounding area, with hybrid working available, this is a key position for a senior planner ready to step into a leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the delivery of major planning applications and associated documentation
  2. Provide high-level strategic planning advice to clients and stakeholders
  3. Oversee project teams and mentor junior staff
  4. Manage relationships with local authorities, regulators, and community stakeholders
  5. Support business development through bids, proposals, and client engagement
What They're Looking For:
  1. Chartered RTPI membership
  2. Significant experience in town planning, preferably in a consultancy setting
  3. Deep knowledge of UK planning policy, legislation, and procedures
  4. Strong leadership and client-facing skills
  5. A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for sustainable development
