As our Nuclear Team in Warrington continues to grow, we are looking for dynamic Structural Engineers with a strong track record in regulated and quality-assured systems. You will become an integral part of a diverse and exciting team, contributing significantly to project management and delivery. Working closely with AECOM's talented engineering team, you will provide expert leadership and technical oversight in nuclear structural engineering. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and reliability of nuclear facilities and infrastructure. Here's what you'll do:

1. Lead and manage structural engineering projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring compliance with technical requirements, regulatory standards, and project timelines.
2. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
3. Conduct detailed structural analysis and design, including seismic and stress analysis, to ensure robust engineering solutions.
4. Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and calculations to uphold accuracy and adherence to safety and quality standards.
5. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to integrate structural engineering solutions within overall project requirements.
6. Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and recommendations to clients and senior management.
7. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, codes, and standards pertinent to nuclear structural engineering.
8. Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices, methodologies, and processes within the organisation.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what's possible?

Here's what we're looking for:

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
2. Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with membership in MICE or MIStructE.
3. The successful Principal Structural Engineer candidate should ideally possess the following:
4. Demonstrable expertise in one or more specialised areas relevant to the engineering discipline, with a proven track record of applying specialist knowledge effectively.
5. Ability to provide strategic guidance informed by extensive project experience across a portfolio, directing and influencing projects and programs.
6. Leadership capabilities in a key engineering function, responsible for managing resources and expertise.
7. Experience working in the Nuclear Sector, encompassing both new build and decommissioning projects, in roles requiring professional engineering expertise and judgment.
8. Engineering experience demonstrating successful project delivery, with roles influencing professional engineers in defining, implementing, and delivering engineering work packages.
9. Preferably, proficiency in seismic and numerical modelling, including finite element analysis.
10. Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide technicians, graduates, and near Chartered members of the design team.
11. Solid understanding of design principles and the ability to apply them effectively.
12. Working knowledge of European and American Standards.
13. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
14. Possession of a full UK driving license or an equivalent that permits driving in the UK.
15. Ability to meet the security clearance requirements in the UK.

You will also be self-motivated with an ability to work both autonomously where required, with a strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline driven team environment.
