The Reuters Product Connector is an in-house tool that serves as middleware. RPC abstracts Reuters Products from Reuters Business Systems. A Principal Software Engineer, Reuters works across the end-to-end software development life cycle and applies modern software development practices when defining, designing, building, testing, and delivering software and services to users.

This role involves creating and managing API-first microservices for product integration, ensuring seamless eCommerce capabilities, and prioritizing performance and scalability. You will utilize your deep technical expertise and skillset by representing software development engineering in overall project management by specifying and driving progress towards development activities, milestones, and timelines. This role independently builds software solutions, solves highly complex problems, and displays innovation when delivering projects and/or product(s).

A Principal Software Engineer models a growth mindset by mentoring and guiding Software Development Engineer team members in growing their skillsets and models continuous learning and curiosity. This role communicates the role of Software Development Engineering along with the value it adds to the business and partners with all levels of leadership to educate and influence product road maps.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Principal Software Engineer, you will:

  • Develop and maintain the Reuters Product Connector to abstract Reuters Products from Reuters CORE.
  • Create and manage API-first microservices for product integration.
  • Ensure eCommerce capabilities through platforms like Zuora and ONESOURCE.
  • Prioritize performance as a non-functional requirement.
  • Assess and implement required self-service, user record synchronization, and entitlements capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on projects and ensure seamless integration with other systems and applications.

  • Strong knowledge of eCommerce platforms and integration.
