We are currently seeking an ambitious and dynamic Principal / Senior Sustainability Co-ordinator with BREEAM Infrastructure experience to join our Sustainability team in the UK.

A little more about your role...

  1. The Sustainability Lead and/or BREEAM Infrastructure Assessor for the delivery of infrastructure projects which could be from the earliest stages of the design and planning process through to the detailed design and handover to construction, with a focus on energy and rail projects.
  2. Liaison with specialist colleagues in other areas of the Sustainability team to develop and deliver sustainability strategies for infrastructure projects, including an approach to reporting in the area of BREEAM Infrastructure.
  3. Project management of our BREEAM Infrastructure projects to manage teams to deliver projects within programme and budget. This includes update reports to Clients.
  4. Engaging with other specialist disciplines to embed sustainable outcomes in infrastructure projects, such as engineers, ecologists, flood risk consultants, carbon specialists, etc.
  5. Reviewing BREEAM Infrastructure evidence and writing evidence statements.
  6. Line management of colleagues (optional).

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate...

  • Certified BREEAM Infrastructure Assessor.
  • Excellent experience of developing and leading the implementation of sustainability strategies and programmes for infrastructure projects, including the application of BREEAM Infrastructure from registration and scoping to certification.
  • Excellent report writing skills and organisational skills to manage vast amounts of evidence and data collection for BREEAM Infrastructure assessments.
  • A commercial and practical understanding of building design, construction and energy projects would be an advantage.
  • Experience of embedding BREEAM Infrastructure requirements within Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
  • Experience in working alongside design teams and environmental specialists to improve sustainable outcomes.
  • Experience in and wider understanding of sustainability assessments, for example Life Cycle Assessments or EIA, and the ability to work across multiple areas of sustainability delivery.
  • A relevant degree and membership of an appropriate environmental, architectural or sustainability body.
  • Good knowledge of relevant UK and European legislation.
  • Good knowledge of relevant UK and International Assessment methods and protocols.
  • An understanding and enthusiasm for energy and sustainability.
  • A can-do attitude with an appetite to learn more and grow.
  • Strong personal and project management, time management and resourcing skills.
