Principal R&D Engineer - Red Bull Advanced Technologies

We are looking for a Principal R&D Engineer to oversee the day to day management of the R&D Test Group and to create plans to ensure future resource and facility requirements can be provided.

Key Responsibilities of a Principal R&D Engineer

• Ensure that the team delivers on deadlines, and that any missed deadlines are justified.
• Schedule the workload through the department in an efficient manner, allocating tasks to ensure they are completed in order of priority.
• Define strategies for R&D facilities and equipment to support current and future programmes and projects.
• Approve reports following test programmes including complex and/or safety critical tests.
• Represent the department in various meetings such as the Projects Meetings, ensuring effective two-way communication is upheld.
• Take overall responsibility and accountability for the functionality of the equipment in the department, ensuring that it is fit for purpose through carefully scheduled maintenance, servicing and calibration.
• Ensure all health and safety requirements are identified, processed and adhered to.
• Support the creation of product, system and component test plans and allocate suitable resources to support these plans.
• Identify training, development and support needs for relevant staff through the annual performance review process. Ensure appropriate training is arranged and undertaken.
• Assist the Technical Operations Manager with recruitment, interviewing and selection processes.
