Principal Policy Officer

Carrington West are assisting a local authority client within Hertfordshire in their search for a Principal Planning Policy Officer to join the Town Planning department. This will be offered on an initial 3 to 6 month contract with potential for extensions beyond.

We are looking for an experienced qualified Town Planner who has strong day-to-day experience of Planning Policy in the public sector. You will be required to manage, co-ordinate and lead the delivery of significant projects and services in the team.

The council are currently working towards a Regulation 19 consultation in November and will be completing a number of evidence base studies and finalising sites and policies. The timeline is very tight so they are looking for someone who can hit the ground running.

You will be expected to write tender briefs for outstanding evidence work and take the lead managing consultants on some of the studies. You will also assist in the final site assessments and updating local plan policies.

Office presence required for this role is flexible.

Carrington West Pay Rate - £50 to 55 per hour
