37 hours per week, permanent contract
As the East Midlands RTPI Planning Excellence winner 2024, Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council strives for success. With major investment and regeneration already underway, our projects, plans for the future, development opportunities, and ambitions are on another scale. The same can be said for this opportunity to join our talented and dedicated Planning Policy team.
You’ll have greater scope to develop both in your role and the team of professionals that you’ll manage. Positive, dynamic, and passionate about place making, you’ll make a great impression on your team. In turn, you’ll quickly become an important and highly valued member of our management team.
Following on from an ambitious Reg 18 draft Local Plan, you’ll take the lead on preparing the borough’s next Local Plan, helping to shape the future of the borough and play a key role in the wider cross-boundary strategic planning agenda. With the level of planned future growth and investment, your work will be interesting and varied and provide the challenges you’ve been looking for.
The borough offers a wide range of rural planning issues and neighbourhood planning is a key priority. The team works closely with colleagues across the planning service, so you will be involved in a broad range of planning and regeneration projects. We will look to you for ideas to make our service better and help you capitalize on your interest to work with our local communities and other stakeholders to deliver the council’s priorities.
We operate a ‘hybrid working’ model with a mix of office-based, home, and remote working available when suitable. The contractual base will be office-based with agreed flexibility to work from home or at remote working locations in the borough.
