We have an excellent temporary opportunity for a highly skilled Principal Oracle DBA to join our team and help us drive forward the Trust's Data Warehousing and Cloud-first strategies whilst implementing a new Patient Administration System.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and forward-thinking individual who possesses highly expert technical knowledge of Oracle and Oracle architecture, combined with excellent proven mentoring and leadership skills.
The successful candidate will be based at the City Hospital Campus, working closely with the current SQLDBAs as well as the Infrastructure and Software Development teams. You will provide extensive in-depth technical expertise, leadership, guidance, and support to the Trust in the architecture, maintenance, upgrading, and troubleshooting of existing Oracle databases (including, but not restricted to, the Trust's DHR solution), as well as the architecture, configuration, tuning, and delivery of new Oracle databases and other new database tools and technologies.
Your work will be varied and interesting, encompassing the creation and maintenance of high and low-level designs for our databases and their underlying infrastructure. You will work closely with our solution and domain specialists, implementation teams, and external suppliers to understand the needs of the database solutions, defining patterns and standards to ensure consistency, resilience, security, and best practices in the delivery and operation of the platforms. The role will also encompass some elements of line management and team leadership, such as providing guidance and mentoring to more junior staff.
