ApotheCom are looking to hire a Principal Medical Writer, to join a global medical affairs team with a leading pharmaceutical client. With key therapy area knowledge including cardiovascular and kidney disease, your experience developing and reviewing related content within a MedComms setting will be a vital factor. This role offers opportunities to be a partner and trusted advisor to the client, with travel for client meetings and events.

You will be a senior scientific member of an existing team and will partner with the medical and client service leads to mentor and review work, enable high quality delivery and grow the business. Content delivery includes training materials, congress and symposia work, and advisory board activities, for which creativity and a clear understanding of client strategy is key.

The position holder will be comfortable providing a high-level consultancy service to our pharmaceutical industry clients and ensure the scientific accuracy and high quality of medical communication projects.

Core duties

1. Takes a scientific leadership role on a major revenue-generating account and build strong consultancy ("trusted advisor") relationships with the client team.
2. Demonstrates and maintains an in-depth understanding of the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, and relevant therapy areas.
3. Works closely with the medical and client services leads to ensure scientific excellence in the development of proposals, medical education and communication tactics.
4. Proactively leads and inputs on content development plans and strategy planning.
5. Line manages junior writers and provides constructive review feedback.
