Principal Mechanical Engineer - Process

Astute’s Nuclear team is partnering with a FTSE 100 organisation that contributes to international defence to recruit a Principal Mechanical Process Engineer on a 12-month contract, on a remote basis with rare visits to its Plymouth site.

The Principal Mechanical Process Engineer role comes with an hourly rate between £70 - £87 an hour.

Key skills required for the Principal Mechanical Process Engineer role

1. Experience of designing a mechanical service or process systems.
2. Experience of working in a highly regulated industry, strong preference to nuclear.
3. Understanding of hydraulic or pressure calculations.
4. Understanding of hazard identification and analysis associated with process systems (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP etc).
5. BEng/BSc in mechanical engineering or similar degree.
6. Line management experience of 3+ direct reports.

Location, day rate and timeframe of the Principal Mechanical Process Engineer role

1. An hourly rate between £70 and £87 per hour.
2. Inside IR35.
3. Remote working with occasional site visits (1 in 6 weeks).
4. 12 month contract.
