Job Description

Principal Manufacturing Engineer

My client is an established global manufacturer of large engineered-to-order equipment supplying throughout EMEA from their Droitwich, UK site.

The Principal Manufacturing Engineer is a critical function to create, deliver and implement improvements within the manufacturing facility.

Extensive experience in a similar manufacturing environment is essential; fabrication, structural steel, skid mounted plant, welding.

The Role

  1. Drive process improvements, business transformations, design, and implement modern techniques and tooling/fixtures.
  2. Evaluating and improving quality control processes, production processes, methods, schedules, downtime, cycle times, availability of machines, and waste management.
  3. Ensuring compliance.
  4. Reviewing and calculating costs.
  5. Planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment placement to maximise manufacturing efficiency using MRP/ERP.
  6. Coordinating maintenance services.

Hours: 38 hours pw, flexible working, core hours 0930-1530.

Requirements

  1. Highly experienced Principal or Senior Manufacturing Engineer.
  2. Background in an engineered to order (ETO)/fabrication & assembly environment, structural steel.
  3. Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or other formal productivity improvement programs (Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt).
  4. Strong systems background in MRP/ERP, project management, scheduling, inventory management, and general accounting.
  5. AutoCAD/Solidworks would be an advantage.

  1. Salary to £47K - £53k.
