Principal Geotechnical Engineer

Fantastic opportunity, for the position of Principal Geotechnical Engineer, at a Large Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy. This role is based in London.

Overview

Our client is an award-winning multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with a reputation for innovative and sustainable design, providing services to the education, health, commercial, residential, leisure, regeneration and masterplanning sectors.

You will be joining a team of friendly and experienced geotechnical engineers at their London office, where they are looking for a highly motivated chartered geotechnical engineer keen to develop their career to Associate level.

Requirements

1. A degree in civil engineering, geology and/or engineering geology with a focus on geotechnical engineering modules.
2. Minimum 8 years' relevant industry background.
3. Background within an engineering consultancy, and with people and project management skills commensurate with the role.
4. Proven background of the design of civil engineering, geotechnical structures, the use of associated software and thorough knowledge of geotechnical design standards are essential.
5. Demonstrable track-record in the design and management of ground investigations, the preparation of thorough interpretive geotechnical assessments, geotechnical design and modelling.
6. Must be able to take the geotechnical lead on projects.
7. Able to manage work independently whilst providing the necessary tools, support and mentoring.
8. Strong interpretive report writing and geotechnical analysis skills.
9. Track-record in the provision of geotechnical advice to clients and colleagues.
10. Background in the use of geotechnical software such as Plaxis, Wallap, Oasys suite (PDisp, XDisp, Alp) etc.
11. A UK driving licence.
