Civil & Structural Engineering, Ecology and Environmental

Working Hours: 8:00 - 18:00 (Mon/Thurs), 8:00 - 16:00 (Fri)

We’re looking for a Senior/Principal Water Environment Modeller (or an experienced Consultant ready to step up) to join our growing Water Environment team in the south west of England. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on innovative projects, from nature-based solutions and flood risk management to drainage design and climate change assessments.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering hydraulic modelling for river and urban flood risk projects.
  • Championing technical innovation to enhance project efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective solutions.
  • Producing and reviewing high-quality technical reports.

What You’ll Need

  • Experience with 1D/2D hydraulic modelling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-2D, Flood Modeller-TUFLOW, Infoworks-ICM).
  • Strong understanding of flood risk management techniques and option appraisals.
  • Familiarity with UK flood risk planning policies and hydrological methodologies.
  • Excellent technical report writing and review skills.
  • Experience in collaborative working, with strong communication skills for engaging with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues.
  • Commercial awareness with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Project management experience (for senior/principal level).
