Principal Environmental Consultant – Waste Permitting

Salary: £40k - £47k. Benefits include mileage reimbursement, pension, laptop, healthcare, and mobile phone.

An established Waste Management company with a strong industry presence is looking for an experienced Environmental Consultant to support clients with permitting plans. Joining a growing consultancy team, you will manage your own portfolio of clients, conduct desk studies, perform site visits, and issue site permits. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with excellent career prospects.

Location: Llanberis, Bethesda, Bangor and surrounding areas

Experience Required:

1. A degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
2. Proven experience in preparing applications for Environmental Permits.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
4. Ideally hold a WAMITAB/ COTC.
5. Experience working with the Environment Agency (EA) and building effective professional relationships.
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
7. Full UK driving licence and access to own transport for site visits.

Applicants with experience in areas such as Permitting, Planning, Water, Waste Management, Land Remediation, Environment, Recycling, and Compliance are encouraged to apply. Relevant previous job titles may include:

Environmental Consultant, Permitting Manager, Land Risk Assessor, Hydrogeological Impacts Assessor, Project Manager, Flood Risk Surveyor, Remediation Consultant.

Responsibilities:

1. Apply technical expertise to characterise land quality and perform risk assessments.
2. Develop cost-effective and sustainable solutions for clients.
3. Stay informed about relevant legislation, government guidelines, and current research.
4. Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, health and safety regulations, and risk assessment standards.
5. Conduct site investigations and assessments to prepare detailed reports for planning and permitting applications.
6. Adhere to company policies during site visits and ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
