Job description

Job Title: Principal Engineer - Systems Engineering (Model Based Architect)

Location: Coventry. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Negotiable dependent on experience.

What you'll be doing:

  • Design and maintain requirements, architectures, and system designs for complex technical systems.
  • Generate SysML views to capture interactions between complex systems within the Submarine.
  • Support with the full utilisation and development of model-based systems engineering artifacts across a portfolio of products.
  • Expand, elaborate, and own key system design elements and associated systems engineering products that drive customer success.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define system functions, requirements and design elements to ensure optimal performance in constrained technical environments.
  • Decompose complex designs into understandable components for further elaboration and development.
  • Support the execution of the full project lifecycle, from planning, through implementation, to operational readiness.

Your skills and experiences:

  • Hold a Degree or equivalent within a STEM field.
  • Have a strong familiarisation of SysML.
  • You will need to have experience of using Model Based System Engineering toolsets such as Enterprise Architect.
  • Have a firm understanding of Systems Engineering and Systems thinking.
  • Familiarity with the Engineering System Lifecycle and its related process (specifically processes mentioned ISO/IEC 15288).
