We are looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team based in our Aberdeen (AIBP) office.

What will you be doing?

  1. Required activities to facilitate smooth and timely delivery of assigned Mechanical Engineering scopes to acceptable company standard.
  2. Progress reporting as required for assigned scopes.
  3. Compliance with policy, process, and regulations.
  4. Project awareness of risks and mitigating actions.
  5. Promotion of compliance with company Health & Safety standards.
  6. Lead / participate in meetings as required to deliver the contracted workscope.
  7. Category C scopes from define (FEED) phase through to execution and handover.
  8. Preparation of mechanical specifications, datasheets, etc.
  9. Mechanical package management.
  10. Perform all technical duties in a highly competent and efficient manner.


We think you should have:

  1. Degree qualified, Chartered Engineer
  2. Significant engineering design experience in the offshore oil & gas industry including brownfield modification projects.
  3. Front End, FEED and EPC experience.
  4. Previous experience in leadership/supervisory position; Ability to manage and plan own work scope and that of assigned engineers/designers.
  5. Experience of multiple office execution/workshare/home working and collaboration with multi-cultural teams.
  6. Experience in preparation of technical specifications, data sheets, requisitions and technical assessment of supplier bids.
  7. Experience in Supplier Package Management / Document Review of mechanical equipment and packages.
  8. Experience in Factory Acceptance Testing of mechanical equipment and packages.
  9. Knowledge of static mechanical equipment including vessel and filtration equipment packages.
  10. Knowledge of mechanical rotating equipment including process and utility pump packages.
  11. Sound knowledge of the relevant design codes for the design of systems and equipment on offshore installations.
  12. Offshore project experience.
