Are you a seasoned electrical engineer ready to lead and inspire a team of talented professionals? Join NOV Wireline Flowline as aPrincipal Electrical Engineerand take charge of delivering cutting-edge electrical designs for Wireline Systems and Wellhead Pressure Control Equipment. In this key leadership position, you'll oversee the engineering team and workshop operations, ensuring that all designs meet industry-leading standards such as ATEX and IECEx, while driving continuous innovation.

As the Principal Electrical Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing the development, performance, cost reduction, and standardisation of our products. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead high-impact projects, collaborate with diverse teams, and make a significant contribution to the company's growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage design projects from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective electrical and electro-mechanical system designs.
  • Drive the development of customised, customer-centric solutions and contribute to sales and marketing strategies.
  • Oversee engineering teams to ensure designs meet required industry standards, including ATEX, IECEx, CE, and NORSOK.
  • Provide detailed cost estimates and manage projects within budget, focusing on efficiency and resource optimization.
  • Prepare and approve engineering documents, including drawings, technical manuals, and compliance documentation.
  • Participate in client meetings, contract reviews, and design review meetings, ensuring technical alignment with customer requirements.
  • Lead test programs and factory acceptance tests to validate designs, ensuring they meet all operational and safety standards.
  • Support cross-functional teams and assist with other departments and global business units as needed.
  • Travel worldwide for client meetings, site installations, commissioning, and testing support.

Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in electrical or electro-mechanical system design, preferably within the energy sector or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record in leading multidisciplinary design projects, including wireline systems and wellhead pressure control equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge of ATEX/IECEx regulations and industry standards.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD, FEA, and MathCAD for engineering analysis.
  • Experience managing teams and working across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to make timely, effective decisions.
  • Strong business acumen and customer focus, with the ability to manage complex technical and commercial requirements.
  • A proactive, results-driven mindset with a passion for innovation and professional development.
