About the role:

• Support the Development Manager in leading the Development Management Team.
• Handle significant planning applications, including site inspections, consultations, and assessments.
• Prepare and present reports to the Development Control Committee.
• Act as Development Manager in their absence, including workload allocation and performance monitoring.
• Negotiate improved development proposals and financial contributions for infrastructure.
• Provide advice on complex planning proposals to the public and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with council departments and external bodies on development matters.
• Prepare appeal statements and represent the council at hearings or inquiries.
• Address complaints and assist in Ombudsman investigations when necessary.
• Manage correspondence and other tasks as assigned.
