Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Design Engineer to lead a team in the development and production of innovative scientific instrumentation.

The role involves overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from conception to production, while driving creative solutions and ensuring technical excellence. This is a key leadership position within a company known for its cutting-edge technology and commitment to quality.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of advanced automated instruments
  • Manage team workflows and training to maintain high performance
  • Conduct design reviews and implement engineering improvements
  • Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to transition prototypes to production

Skills Required

  • Mechanical Engineering degree and circa 10 years’ experience in Design
  • Expertise in manufacturing processes, including CNC, 3D printing, and sheet metal
  • Hands-on problem-solving approach and proficiency in SolidWorks
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to inspire and develop teams

Compensation & Other Benefits

  • Up to £75,000 salary based on experience & 25 days holiday (+ Bank Holidays)
