Job description

This post is a fixed term post for 12 months to cover maternity. The role is based in Community Adult Mental Health Teams in the South of the county.

CMHTs are multidisciplinary teams that deliver specialist support and clinical interventions to people with a range of mental health difficulties.

The post-holder will be part of the leadership team within the CMHTs as well as supervising and supporting other practitioner psychologists and team members. Psychologists are valued members of the MDT and are encouraged to play a key role in MDT working. You will work alongside other Principal Psychologists, working in both South and North CMHTs. The Principal psychologists are supported by the Adult Mental Health Psychology Lead.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will supervise and line manage members of psychology staff who work into the CMHTs. They will also carry out clinical work and we are keen to recruit someone with experience, specialist knowledge and skills of working with severe and enduring mental health difficulties such as complex trauma, psychosis, and personality difficulties.

The postholder will also take a leadership role; therefore, leadership skills and the ability to develop innovative practice and play a lead role in service development are essential. We are looking for someone who can contribute at a senior level to the vision for the service working closely with various stakeholders.
