Job Description

Principal Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer

Department: EC&I

An exciting opportunity for a Senior or Principal C&I Engineer to lead and support the delivery of engineering projects across the full lifecycle—including Pre-FEED, FEED, and EPC phases—within industries such as oil & gas, petrochemicals, chemicals, and power .

This role involves providing technical leadership in the specification, design, installation, and commissioning of C&I systems.

You’ll play a key part in design assurance, performance troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement. Acting as Lead Engineer on selected projects, you'll ensure safe, compliant, and timely delivery within defined scope and budget.

Responsibilities include developing technical documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, supporting new business proposals, and offering consultancy services. At the Principal level, you will also contribute to resource planning and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Strong experience in C&I design and engineering across major process industries.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards, hazardous area design, and functional safety.
  • Proficiency in report writing, interpreting technical documentation, and understanding project controls.

This is a full-time role with a standard day working pattern and minimal travel. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of technical competence, commitment to safety, and alignment with professional behavioural standards.
