Job description

Principal Business Consultant - Accounting

Who we are
For over 50 years, we have worked closely with investment and asset managers to become the world's leading provider of integrated investment management solutions. We are 2,800+ colleagues with a broad range of nationalities, educations, professional experiences, ages, and backgrounds in general.
SimCorp is an independent subsidiary of the Deutsche Börse Group. Following the recent merger with Axioma, we leverage the combined strength of our brands to provide an industry-leading, full, front-to-back offering for our clients, with SimCorp as the overarching company brand and Axioma as a key product brand.
SimCorp is an equal-opportunity employer. We are committed to building a culture where diverse perspectives and expertise are integrated into our everyday work. We believe in the continual growth and development of our employees, so that we can provide best-in-class solutions to our clients.

Why this role is important to us:
At SimCorp, we facilitate the streamlining of investments, accounting, and operations for major global financial institutions. We do this through IT systems, processes, and financial knowledge. Implementing our software by way of high-quality projects is at the core of what we do. To introduce our software to our clients, business consultants are essential to us.
In the role of Principal Business Consultant specializing in Accounting, your participation will be instrumental in the expansion of our market unit and in advancing the outcomes of our clients' projects. You will normally be working full-time on implementation projects, which require your special expertise in the Accounting area, and you will be responsible for all aspects of the project stream. You will act as an important sparring partner for your clients and effectively monitor, coordinate, and escalate issues as needed.

What you will be responsible for

  • Responsibility for major parts of SimCorp Dimension implementation projects: You know the customers' requirements and processes related to Accounting at banks, asset managers and insurers and outline solutions for optimal use of SimCorp Dimension.
  • Close cooperation with the project manager and key role in developing projects to success.
  • Key contact for our customers for all questions in connection with SimCorp Dimension.
  • Instruct and mentor less experienced colleagues on the job.
  • Prepare requirement specifications for enhancements to our product management.
  • Identify opportunities to offer tailored services beyond the project scope to our customers in your role as a trusted advisor.
  • Contribute to improving best practices for implementation processes and promote topics across projects.
  • Actively participate in know-how exchange with colleagues on an international level.

What we value
Most importantly, you can see yourself contributing and thriving in the position described above. How you gained the skills needed for doing that is less important. We expect you to be good at several of the following and be able to - and interested in - learning the rest:

  • Degree in economics/finance, mathematics/computer science or similar qualification.
  • More than 10 years of experience.
  • Work experience with Accounting of financial investments as a Senior Business Analyst, Senior Accountant, or Senior Consultant from banks, asset managers, insurers or consulting firms.
  • Ideally, you have SimCorp Dimension experience or you are familiar with implementing financial software.
  • Hands on experience with one of the following Accounting related processes:
    • Financial accounting and General Ledger for IFRS9 or local GAAPs.
    • Fund Administration.
    • Data Migration.
  • You are consistently appreciative and client-oriented with a positive can-do mindset and an above-average energy level.
  • Team spirit and a desire to share your knowledge.
  • High communication and consulting skills and a high degree of commercial awareness, customer orientation and quality consciousness.
  • Fluency in English, and other European language skills are considered a valuable skill.
  • Willingness to travel.

Benefits
Attractive salary, bonus scheme, and pension are essential for any work agreement. However, in SimCorp, we believe we can offer more. Therefore, in addition to the traditional benefit scheme, we provide an extensive work-life balance and opportunities for professional development: there is never just only one route - we offer an individual approach to professional development to support the direction you want to take.
