An established and multinational company have a new opportunity for a Principal Analog IC Design Engineer to join a growing centre in Scotland’s Semiconductor hub of Edinburgh.

In this role you will be responsible for designing world-class analog circuits for battery-powered applications, with a focus on Class D amplifier design to drive high-performance transducers used in audio and haptics applications.

The Principal Analog IC Design Engineer will have the opportunity to develop solutions that push the boundaries of low-power consumption, high efficiency, and exceptional performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including digital designers, system engineers, and product engineers, helping to deliver cutting-edge solutions for the next generation of consumer electronics.

Collaborating with mixed-signal and digital design teams the Principal Analog IC Design Engineer will be integrating Analog blocks into complex SoCs. You will work with system architects to define specifications and ensure the Analog subsystems meet overall performance requirements.

Industry degree qualified the successful applicant will have a minimum 10 years of experience in Analog IC Design in CMOS particularly with Class D amplifier topologies and low-power, battery-operated systems.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • A proven track record in designing Analog ICs, including power amplifiers, filters, ADC/DAC interfaces, and power management circuits.
  • An understanding of audio and haptic transducer technology.
  • Proficiency in simulation tools such as Cadence, Spectre, SPICE.
  • Experience in layout considerations for Analog/Mixed-Signal circuits
  • Experience with lab measurement equipment.

You will have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment as well as excellent communication skills to interface effectively with global teams and customers.
