Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant (TA)

Location: Rotherham
Salary: £86 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are offering a rewarding opportunity for a Primary Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Rotherham. This role is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about supporting young learners and are committed to creating a positive and engaging classroom experience.

About the Role:

As a Primary Teaching Assistant (TA), you will be working alongside class teachers to support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1, or Key Stage 2. You will assist with classroom activities, deliver targeted interventions, and provide individualised support for children who may need extra guidance with their learning or social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Working one-on-one or in small groups with pupils to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Assisting with the preparation of teaching materials and classroom displays.
  • Helping pupils to develop confidence, independence, and positive learning habits.
  • Promoting good behaviour and ensuring a calm, nurturing learning environment.
  • Offering additional support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), where required.
  • Supporting the school’s safeguarding and pastoral ethos at all times.

Job Requirements:

  • Prior experience working in a primary school or childcare setting is highly desirable.
  • A relevant qualification such as a Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools is beneficial.
  • A genuine interest in child development and a caring, patient nature.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented approach.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, child welfare, and promoting the values of inclusive education.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
