Job description

Primary Teacher - Alternative Provision
Burnley

Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a Primary Teacher to work within an Alternative Provision in Burnley. As a Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching Key Stage 2. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children from Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, be able to deescalate challenging behaviour and understand SEMH.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and deliver engaging lessons to students within Key Stage 2.
  2. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  3. Manage and deescalate challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management strategies.
  4. Work collaboratively with other teachers and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Essential Requirements:
  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  2. Experience of teaching students from Key Stage 1 up to Key Stage 2.
  3. A strong understanding of SEMH.
  4. Excellent behaviour management skills.
  5. Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons to a diverse range of students.
Desirable Requirements:
  1. Experience of working within an Alternative Provision setting.
  2. Experience of working with students with Special Educational Needs.
