Job role: Primary Teacher

Location: Trent Acres, Kings Bromley, DE13 7HR

Salary: £21,000 per annum (not pro rata)

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Primary Teacher to join our close-knit team at Trent Acres, part of Options Autism.

About the role

  1. To provide a high quality education service for our students in accordance with Company policies, procedures and practices and the standards set by the Regulatory Body.
  2. To plan, organise and deliver the curriculum relevant to key stage and specific subject area/s to best meet pupils’ individual special education needs.
  3. To practice with a high degree of competence with the aim of reducing barriers to learning and participation in the classroom, leading to all pupils achieving their learning potential.
  4. Review, monitor and adapt curriculum matters in order to ensure a challenging, engaging and appropriate curriculum is being delivered to all.
  5. To share the school’s values and ethos to create a highly personalised curriculum to meet individuals' needs in an environment that is nurturing and holistic.

Responsibilities

  • To plan, deliver and teach individual students or small groups, in accordance with the School’s Curriculum framework and related policies.
  • To monitor, record and report on student progress.
  • To contribute to and help implement developments that relate to the School Development Plan.
  • To promote, in line with Company policies, the physical, educational and moral development of the students.
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of an environment and programme of learning for the individual student to ensure progression at an appropriate and satisfactory rate.
  • To take responsibility for coordinating the teaching, development, assessment, recording and reporting of subjects and areas of learning across key stages as agreed with the Head Teacher.
  • To devise, implement and review individual education plans, individual behaviour plans and other relevant individual plans in conjunction with other staff.
  • To organise the classroom, its resources, student groupings and displays to provide a stimulating learning situation appropriate for students.
  • Adequately plan to ensure the safety of students, in line with risk assessments, while both on and off site.

Options Trent Acres is an outstanding independent specialist school providing 141 places for pupils age 5-19. The school operates across two sites in Staffordshire, providing academic and vocational opportunities in both a rural, 12-acre site and a newly built college setting.
