Job description

PPA Teacher (Primary) – Summer Term – Brighton

Looking for a regular primary teaching role with no planning, no meetings, and no extra workload? We’re hiring a PPA Teacher for an inclusive primary school on the outskirts of Brighton for the summer term, working Monday to Thursday.

About the School

This two-form entry primary and nursery school is located in the rolling hills of Woodingdean, next to the South Downs National Park. The school serves a diverse and thriving community and is known for its inclusive ethos, high aspirations, and nurturing approach.

  • A school where every child is celebrated – ‘Learning is an adventure’ and nurture is at the heart of everything they do.
  • Expert support from three friendly school therapy dogs – therapy sessions are available to both students and staff.
  • Beautiful school grounds, a ‘Magical’ Forest School, and outdoor learning opportunities.

Why This Primary PPA Teaching Role is Perfect for You:

  • No Planning Required, lessons are prepared and resourced by class teachers, meaning lessons will be specific, differentiated and ready for you to deliver!
  • No Staff Meetings or Parents' Evenings - arrive at 8am, leave by 4pm.
  • Working days are Monday to Thursday, leaving you with a long weekend for life laundry, beach days, or September job applications.
  • Teach from Reception to Year 6, meaning every day is different and you can polish your teaching skills and curriculum knowledge across EYFS, KS1 + KS2.
  • Enjoy the stability of working in one school, without the responsibility and admin of a class teaching role.
  • Be part of a friendly, well-resourced school with a stable and supportive leadership team.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS) with recent experience in the classroom.
  • Confidence in teaching across the primary age range, from Reception to Year 6.
  • Commitment to teaching for the whole summer term (Terms 5 + 6) starting immediately after Easter until the end of July.

What’s on Offer:

  • A warm, inclusive school community that values kindness, respect, equality, teamwork, and positivity.
  • Wonderful children who are proud and respectful of their school.
  • Opportunities to develop your teaching practice in a well-supported environment.
  • A nurturing school with a family feel, where staff love coming to work.
  • Wonderful school grounds, a ‘Magical’ Forest School and access to the beautiful countryside for outdoor learning.
  • Access CPD-certified training, including Safeguarding and Child Protection updates.
