Job description

Location: Islington, London
Days: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
Start Date: Beginning of May
Duration: Until the end of the Summer Term, with the possibility to continue


Tradewind are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Music Teacher to inspire and develop young musicians across EYFS, KS1, and KS2. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping the school's music provision while fostering a love for music among students.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Developing Teaching & Learning of Music
  2. Deliver inspirational music lessons to all children, from our two-year-old nursery to Year 6.
  3. Ensure continuity and progression in planning, teaching, and learning.
  4. Use a range of teaching strategies to engage and support all pupils.
  5. Work closely with the Inclusion Manager to support SEND, EAL, and disadvantaged pupils.
  6. Develop children's, staff's, and parents' enthusiasm and confidence in music throughout the school.
Music Leadership & Events
  1. Lead and manage extra-curricular music provision, including choirs and orchestras/bands.
  2. Organise and coordinate music events for parents and carers, as well as collaborations with local schools and organisations. Some events may take place in the evening or on weekends.
  3. Liaise with Camden Music and other music professionals, including instrumental teachers.
Requirements
  1. QTS or significant experience in primary music teaching.
  2. Experience working with Early Years, KS1, and KS2 students.
  3. Strong leadership and organisational skills for managing music events and extra-curricular activities.
  4. Passion for developing music education and making it accessible to all pupils.
