Key Stage 2 SEN Teacher Required in Windlesham, Surrey

Location: Windlesham, Surrey (GU20)
Contract Type:
Temp-Perm / Permanent
Start Date:
Immediate (April 2025)
Duration: Monday - Friday (Full-Time)
Class Size:
4-6 students
Needs of students: Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and associated needs

About the School:
An independent SEN School which supports young people with autism spectrum condition, located in the scenic area of Windlesham, Surrey. Looking to maximise every student's potential supported by a bespoke approach to teaching and learning. As well as class teachers, the school uses subject teachers like PE & Sport, Art, Design Technology, and Cooking. The students also work with professionals such as SALT's and Educational Psychologists.

About the role - Key Stage 2 Class Teacher:
Deliver high-quality, well-planned lessons following the national curriculum with a focus on building confidence and independence. You'll be supported by Teaching Assistants in the classroom and a hands-on SLT.

The role will consist of:

  • Teaching to a class of varying needs including varied types of learning levels.
  • Working closely with students, their parents/careers, and other members of staff to ensure that the students are happy and learning well.
  • Adapting the syllabus according to the individual students' EHCP.
  • Making appropriate use of a range of monitoring and assessment strategies to evaluate pupils' progress.
  • Focusing on improving long-term outcomes for our young people.

The successful applicants will have:

  • Previous experience teaching at KS1 and/or KS2.
  • Ability to plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons.
  • Experience teaching and/or working with students with special needs.
  • Previous experience dealing with challenging behaviour & excellent behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to utilise/implement Positive Behaviour Strategies.
  • A calm, patient manner and ability to react positively to a fast-changing environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff, parents, and students.

To be eligible for this role you must have an Enhanced Child or Child & Adult Workforce barred list DBS Certificate registered on the update service.
