In this role, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to work in the Saga pricing team to support with data, modelling and performance of our home and motor product portfolios. We are looking for an experienced pricing manager who has strong analytical skills, expertise in data analysis and an understanding of pricing strategies. You will work closely with the Head of Pricing and wider business to use your data and pricing expertise to support key aspects of the group's strategy and key shareholder objectives. The Pricing team comes together twice a month, usually in our London office. Reporting to our Head of Pricing & Project you’ll support BAU activity within the pricing team as we work towards a seamless transition in our new Ageas partnership.

Role Responsibility

As our new Pricing Manager, you will be accountable for the following areas:

1. Collect, organise and manage pricing data from various sources ensuring accuracy and consistency.
2. Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather pricing insights and support the development of pricing strategies.
3. Create and maintain pricing reports and dashboards for senior leadership.
4. Proactively use data to identify areas of opportunity to drive commercial value and competitive advantage, delivering profitable growth for Saga’s insurance business.
5. Model, interpret and monitor business data to identify and confirm market trends.
6. Provide subject matter expert support to various business areas.
7. Take a role in the development of pricing models utilising Emblem, Radar, and other software tools.
8. Provide recommendations to improve pricing models based on data-driven insights.
9. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, pricing fairness rules and data usage policies.
10. Support the Head of Pricing by influencing and shaping the team’s priorities, resourcing, strategy, pricing policies and direction.

The Ideal Candidate

As our new Pricing Manager, we require personal lines experience, ideally focused in the Motor or Home markets. Other industry experience would include:

1. Experienced in some programming such as SQL, R and Python.
2. Strong numerical and statistical capabilities.
3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
4. Knowledge of General Insurance pricing processes and methodologies.
5. Strong influencing and relationship management skills.
6. Possesses strong team coaching/management abilities and actively motivates others to win.
7. Proactive, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.
8. Strong organisational skills, e.g. time management, documentation etc.
9. Knowledge of modelling software, such as Radar, Emblem, or similar systems.
10. Understanding of regulatory requirements in relation to pricing.
